What a clinic's website needs

From the PremierMed project: seven things that help patients trust a clinic and book more easily.

We recently worked on the website and the internal system of a medical centre in Chișinău. Along the way we collected the things that matter most to patients.

1. It must work perfectly on phones

Most patients look for a doctor on their phone, often in a hurry. The text must be easy to read, and the call and WhatsApp buttons always at hand, not hidden in a menu.

2. Doctors before services

People choose the doctor first, then the service. Real photos, the speciality and the schedule of each doctor inspire more trust than any list of services.

3. Booking in a few steps

Online, by phone or on WhatsApp, whichever the patient prefers. Every extra step loses some of them.

4. Every service with its own page

A separate page for gynaecology, ultrasound or lab tests answers the patient's concrete questions and shows up on Google for exactly what they search for.

5. Several languages

In Chișinău, a clinic loses patients if its website is only in Romanian. Romanian, Russian and, for foreigners, English.

6. Clear contact details

The address, a map, easy-to-recognise landmarks and the opening hours, all on one page. Patients shouldn't have to call to find out how to get there.

7. Care with the data

Forms and bookings contain health data. The website and the system behind it must protect it: password-protected access, backups and a clear privacy policy.
